Roles in TV – Series Regular, Guest Star, Recurring, Co-Star

In order to understand the audition process you have to understanding the TV roles you can book during pilot season (and after it):

Co-Star: That’s how it starts. You booked a little role with some lines in one episode of the TV series.

Recurring: yeah, pushing it further! You are hired to play a role with a few lines in multiple episodes. Congrats!

Guest Star: nice job! You booked a big part on one episode! You usually have much more lines than a small role in this one episode, which would be a co-star role.

Series Regular: You’re one of the big boys now! You booked a leading role in a TV series. It’s time to celebrate – well no, actually it’s time to learn lines! Gotta get going!
