In L.A. everything’s about networking. You have to go out and meet people. Unlike in Germany or Austria people really do take you seriously when you just approach them on the street. Because L.A. is a melting pot of creative people (almost every bartender is an artist, every waitress an actress) you can find a lot of people with the same mindset. Everybody wants to create and network. You never know where this eventually leads you to.
As open-minded as La La Land people are the more you have to realize that patience is written in capital letters here. Everything takes its time. So go get a coffee, relax for a moment, don’t think about your money problems and enjoy the company of great people. Eventually these meetings may evolve into friendships or business partnerships.
My roomate told me a great quote the other day: “Don’t look for the harvest when you’re planting seeds.”
